ATTENTION FORRESTON WATER CUSTOMERS
Beginning in July 2021, the Village will be completing a lead services replacement
project including the replacement of approximately 446 lead service lines throughout
the Village of Forreston’s distribution system.
The total project is estimated to cost $2,886,205.02, however the Village will also be
securing $2,875,955.02 in principal loan forgiveness from IEPA. The Village will have
no loan amount to pay back on this project while contributing only $10,250 from
Village funds.
The Public Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) is administered by the Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). A portion of the IEPA money to fund these
types of projects comes from the US Environmental Protection Agency. SRF programs
operate in each state to provide communities with the resources to build, maintain and
improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.
The project will provide improved water quality to the Village’s water distribution
system.
